Origin
Located on the Pacific coast of California, 54 nautical miles North of San Francisco, is the small Fishing port of Bodega Bay.
It is here where we go offshore to source our pristine deep-sea water. far from the local bays and estuaries which are prone to agricultural and human contamination. This clean water is pumped through several filtration systems, then is evaporated to a more concentrated brine. It is this step where we utilize a unique decanting method to help remove unwanted minerals and then using a 15th century technique developed in the ancient salt mines of Austria, the water is slowly volatilized and the salt crystals are formed.
Collecting only these premium crystals and stopping the process before other solids can form, the product is hand-sorted, dried, and presented to you as Bodega Flake.
